The Rainbow Bridge Poem.

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

In Loving Memory 8/08

Willie Lambeth: October 7, 1999 - August 10, 2008

Willie lived life always happy (and nervous!) to see me and Jay always feeling safe once we were home and settled. I pray that last night he found peace and safety with God and is now looking down at us wagging his nub saying "I can't wait to see you again Momma and Daddy!" Cause I sure can't wait to See Willie again.

Willie was such a force in my life over the years, now in his passing I am left with happy memories that I cherish. Those of you who know me know of my boys and their presence in my life. I have been blessed with Willie and fondly and lovingly remember the times that he made me laugh out loud and the times he made me feel like a mom, his mom. Thank you Willie for loving me, needing me, and ALWAYS being happy to see me. You made my world better, you made me better! I love you Willie

In Memory of Booker

The donation is in loving memory of my bully Booker. He was the center of our world. Unfortunately, we had to put him down one month ago because he went into kidney failure. He wasn't even a year and a half old.  But we were so blessed for the time we shared with him. He was a rescue, and he brought us more joy and happiness in his short life than we ever could have imagined. We wouldn't trade our time with him for the world.

I thank you for the work you do. Every bully deserves a chance. I was so moved by Tank's story tonight. I hope that this small donation can help you in your effort to make his life more comfortable.

Booker was our pride and joy. On his behalf, thank you for all that you do.

-- Heather & Dan

Barbara also writes to us in memory of Booker...

Please accept this small donation in memory of Booker.

Booker was my pug’s best friend. His owners are now dear friends of mine. I wouldn’t have known them if it wasn’t for Booker. I wouldn’t have known them if my flat faced pug hadn’t wanted to make friends with the flat faced bulldog in the building next door. So Booker is the reason for a great friendship forming.

Booker lived all too short a life. I thank him for bringing great friends into mine.

In Memory of Murphy Brown

On July 28th a beautiful bully crossed the bridge and she will be missed by all who adored her. "Murphy Brown" Dimitri a very special English Bulldog. She enhanced the lives of her family for 11 and a half years. Beautiful on the inside and out she will be greatly mourned by all whose lives she touched. I had the honor of being her friend and pet sitter and she is the reason I fell in love with the breed. It was a brave and kind decision to help her cross, and I know her dogparents' hearts are breaking right now, but I also know Murphy is in a wonderful place where she is free of pain and frustration. I know bulldog heaven is full of treats, heated beds and people who see the beauty in all those wrinkles and are lulled to sleep each night by the melodious sound of bulldog snoring.
