The Rainbow Bridge Poem.

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

In Loving Memory 7/08

In Memory of Bob & Emma Supplee

Bob's uncle made a memorial donation in Bob's name to HSBR. He writes:

"Bob had been part of our family for almost 13 years and without a doubt, there has never been a dog with more personality than he. He brought so much joy into so many people's lives, the world just won't be the same without him.

I've attached a picture of Bob with his sister Emma (who unfortunately also passed away earlier this year) from Thanksgiving.  Emma's on the left and Bob's on the right. I can only hope that they're together now, young, happy, and cuddled up on a wonderful sofa somewhere."

Champ Kobosko 10/10/94 - 6/26/08
Red Brindle & White Bulldog

Champ was born on October 10, 1994 in Delaware. Champ's Mom was Faye's Lucky Girl and his father's name was Choo Choo Go Get It. Champ lived outside in a cold dark dog house. His original owner gave him up at 4 yrs old because he was getting a divorce. The original owner approached John Kobosko because he knew John loved bulldogs. John adopted Champ in January 1998.

Champ was thrilled not only to move into a beautiful home but next door to a horse farm. He also had a new female playmate bull dog  by the name of Madison. Madison and Champ soon became best friends and inseparable. Champ moved from DE to West Virginia for 3 years. Champ loved to roam and sniff his new 2 1/2 acre property and his favorite hobby was to bury his bones. Champ also loved his big beautiful porch where you would find him sunning himself and watching nature. Champ was a tough dog and would steal all the other dogs bones and toys. Champ loved to chase cats, mice, rabbits, fox and toads. He loved gourmet food but his favorite was crickets. He protected his property and was the alpha male. Champ soon moved back to his home state in Delaware on 2 beautiful acres of farm land with his owner John and his new bride Kara. Champ loved his bed, his bones, the sunshine and riding in the truck looking out the window. Champ will be missed by everyone who met him. Especially his loving and caring owners John and Kara and his lady bull dog friend Madison. We love and miss you terribly Champ!

In Memory of Rogue

We know we didn't have the years we thought we would have with Rogue- but we also would not have changed it. She was our soccer and baseball mascot. She got attention and love from so many and she snored us to sleep. It certainly is weird not to have that noise when your so used to it. We love the breed- and we know we will have another, even if it means the same. Family is Family."
